Spotify is a streaming music service that has over 30 million songs. But sometimes, we want to listen to a song that’s not on Spotify, and we can’t find it anywhere else. In this post, I’ll show you how to unhide a song on Spotify!  First, go to the artist page of the artist that sings the song in question, then click “songs” from their profile page.

How to unhide a song on Spotify?

On this screen, you can click a song title to play it, but if the song isn’t on Spotify, you’ll see a “Hide Song” button instead.

If you have clicked that link, the song will be hidden from your library. But there’s also another way!

Just change the country on the top right to a different country. I chose Greece, but it doesn’t matter which one you choose as long as Spotify has been active from there. Then find the song again and listen to it.

In my case, I can now access an old Creedence Clearwater Revival song that wasn’t available in any other streaming service!

Why are Spotify songs hidden?

Spotify is a streaming service, which means they don’t own any music. It’s still possible to find small record labels that let Spotify upload their song, but many major record labels are not allowing Spotify to show their songs since they want you to buy them directly from the store instead of sharing them with millions of users for free on Spotify. Getting around this problem with legal streaming songs is the reason why they started hiding songs.

How can I find out which song is hidden?

You’ll know it’s a hidden song when you play it and Spotify says, “We don’t have this in your country.” You can also go to an artist page or search for it on Spotify, click the three dots on the top right and click “Edit search filters.” Then you can check which country Spotify thinks that song is from. If this filter says “All” then all songs are available. But if it shows a different country, try to change your location to that country and find the song again!

Can I unhide any song on Spotify?

Yes, any song not available in a specific country can be hidden by changing your location to that country. It’s also possible to unhide the songs from other countries this way.

Can I get around hiding songs with proxies?

Proxy servers are popular for getting around blocked websites at school or work. But they cannot be used to hide songs on Spotify since Spotify checks the country code of your internet connection. Proxy servers also don’t help to find songs that are hidden by changing location since they consistently access the internet through a single server that has only one country associated with it (the proxy server itself).
